Benefits of Ballet Barre Fitness Classes for Adults

As dancers know, the ballet barre is a wonderful prop designed to support the body in both static and dynamic movement leading to long, lean muscles. This class involves the dancer’s workout by combining the grace of the ballet barre, stretching and toning, and some yoga/pilates mat fitness exercises. This class is designed to shape and lift the entire body.

​About Laura Barsalou:
Laura is a professional belly dance performer and dance instructor, teaching weekly classes in Barre and Belly dance, as well as specialty topic workshops. Laura started studying belly dance in 2004, where her love for this unique dance form led her to pursue teaching and develop her professional dance company, BalaChandra Belly Dance. BalaChandra Belly Dance melds traditional American Cabaret and Fusion belly dance styles to create a glamorous aesthetic described as “glossy fusion belly dance,” and has performed at exciting venues throughout the state of Florida.
 
Through her commitment to fitness and the benefits of conditioning to her dance practice, Laura completed certification with Barre Above® in July 2018, teaching a variety of barre formats and intensities.

Belly Dance with Laura:
Discover modern fusion belly dance as we break down fundamental moves and dance steps with Laura's signature Sugar & Spice technique - no previous dance experience required!
We will sequence together arm, chest, and hip isolations that are sugary smooth and soft, or saucy, spicy, and sharp!
 Learn new dance moves which you can practice at home to help tone up and strengthen.
